  • Advance 4 Training offers this Training Programme for Experienced Candidates, which has been developed to meet the needs of the industry and in compliance with IGEM/IG/1 "Standards of Training in Gas Work and the Gas Training Specification." 

    The programme is structured to ensure adequate learning is undertaken in a classroom environment first to understand the key fundamentals. Then the candidate will be required to collect work-based evidence at a later stage. 

    The classroom-based activity will include structured learning, which will include both relevant practical and written assessments to demonstrate both understanding and application of knowledge in each key area of gas safety and/or related activities such as safe isolation, basic health, and safety etc.

    On completion of Domestic Gas Training Course, the candidate is eligible to enrol for Initial ACS assessment. Upon completion of the ACS assessment, candidates can then register with Gas Safe. 

    Proof of experience and other pre-requisite is a mandatory requirement for this course. The entry to this route is subject to an initial interview and pre assessment to assess the general technical knowledge on Gas, Plumbing & Heating related industry.

  • Course Structure
  • The course is divided into different modules. This has been broken down into stages:

    Stage 1.

    Stage One Training is delivered in Centre (theory, practical and online support provided) and home study is required.

    Stage 2:

    ACS Domestic Core Gas Safety (CCN1) Initial Assessment upon completion of the Domestic Gas Safety Training. Upon successful completion of the assessment, candidates are eligible for Gas Safe Registration

    • Prerequisite
    • For "Experienced Route" Candidates (CAT 2): Plumbing, Heating, Gas or any related Industry Qualification Equivalent to Category 2 - Candidates as listed in Current Guidance Note 8 Appendix 1. Proof of experience and other pre-requisite is a mandatory requirement for this course. The entry to this route is subject to an initial interview and pre assessment to assess the general technical knowledge on Gas, Plumbing & Heating related industry.

    • Achievement Upon Completion

    • Upon successful completion of the Assessment, the candidate will receive a Certificate of Competence for ACS domestic core gas safety and related appliances from AdSkills Certification and will be eligible to register with Gas Safe Register.
